The wide range comes down to three things: the room itself (size, acoustic treatment, isolation), the equipment included, and whether staff time is part of the price.

The Portal — £35/hr. Our acoustically treated DJ & music room with a full DJ setup and isolated sound. Half day and full day rates on request.
Blackout Studio — £110/hr (half day £400, full day £800). A 26ft × 19ft total light-seal stage with 12ft ceilings — haze-friendly, which makes it the go-to room for music videos and moody live-session visuals.
Infinity Cove — £120/hr (half day £450, full day £850). A 16ft × 16ft seamless white cyclorama, natural light or full blackout — ideal for artist portraits, press shots and clean performance videos.

What should be included in the price?
This is where London studios differ most — and where budgets quietly fall apart. Before you book anywhere, check whether these are included or charged as extras:
Equipment. At STU 22, every Cove and Blackout booking includes a free basic kit: Aputure continuous lighting, C-stands, combo stands, booms, magic arms, sandbags, poly boards, gels, diffusers, softboxes and umbrellas. The Portal comes with a full DJ setup.
Power and utilities. Some studios bill electricity for lighting rigs separately. Ours is included.
Cleaning and operations fees. A common surprise at checkout elsewhere. We never add them.

Music videos and live sessions → Blackout Studio
Total light seal gives you complete control: haze, colour gels, hard shadows, projector looks. At 26ft × 19ft with 12ft ceilings, there's room for a full performance setup plus camera movement.
Artist branding, cover art and press shots → Infinity Cove
The seamless white cyclorama is the classic look for artist portraits, cover art and label press kits — and you can switch from airy natural light to full blackout in the same booking.
